Non member children insurance reminder

Clyde region pays an annual insurance policy as part of it's support to groups and districts to provide insurance cover for children (under 18 years of age) who are not members of The Scout Association but who attend, or take part in, weekly meetings or other organised Scout activities because they are accompanying their parents who are leaders, instructors or supporters.
Non member children are not insured when there parents are not in attendance at the event.

Science showcase events

Coatbridge College Science department are hosting a range of exciting Science Showcase events for young people aged 5 - 14 years, with the Scottish Government as the principal supporter.
An hour and a half of exciting science activities have been designed and developed by a variety of Science students from NC Applied Science, NQ Biomedical Science and the HNC Applied Science courses. Some of the experiments on offer include CSI detective work, science in motion, fun physics and an egg challenge experiment where you work in teams to design a vehicle to protect the 'Eggstronaut' when he falls from a great height.
Science Curriculum Leader Anne Marie McInally said,'The Science Showcase event provides young people with a real College experience and will give them the opportunity to work in a real science laboratory and carry out exciting science experiments.'
Events are being held at the College on 25th April and 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th May from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.

Firhill Fun Day

On Sunday 13th May, Partick Thistle Football Club are hosting the popular 'Firhill Cup', a football tournament which sees first team players join fans to fight for the trophy! Alongside the tournament, there will be a family fun day run by Kirkwood Castles, with some fantastic events for kids. There will be face painting, bouncy castles, slides, beat the goalie, wet sponge throwing, storytelling, pie stalls and more. The day will run from 10am until 4pm.
Tickets
for spectators are £1, with each event at the Fun Day costing £1, but for Clyde Regional Scout Council, Kirkwood Castles have put
together the following package:
Beavers and cubs can attend the full day for £3, and this cost INCLUDES three events at the Fun Day.
Would
you like to see your child play at Firhill? There will be an opportunity for
all of the beavers and cubs to play on the hallowed Firhill pitch for ten
minutes and be filmed on the Firhill Cup DVD which is available to purchase
after the event.
An interview and Q & A session for Cubs and Scouts with a member of Partick Thistle management team/first team will be available, which can be used as part of an interest badge.
If the beavers and cubs should wish to take part in any other events at the stadium, they can 'pay as you go' for £1 per event.
Entry for adults is just £1.
This
will be a fabulous day, and Partick Thistle are keen to see as many young
