Good Service Awards for members of Clyde Hillwaking Group

Clyde Region was pleased to learn that the Chief Scout has recently made awards recognising the contribution of the following volunteers:
- Rosemarie McIlwhan - Rosemarie has been involved in Scouting for nearly 10 years as an adult volunteer. During that time, she has held roles at Group level, working with Scouts and Venture Scouts and she was responsible for the role out of Scout Network in Greater Glasgow when it was introduced in 2002. For the last 3 years, Rosemarie has been part of the Clyde Hillwalking Group helping young people and adults to do adventurous activities, get out on the hills and increase their hillwalking skills. For her good service to Scouting, the Chief Scout has awarded her the Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service.
- Andrew Jamieson - Andrew has been a Scouting volunteers for nearly 10 years, having come up through Scouting as young person. He has been involved in the running of Scouts and Venture Scouts at Group level and since 2007, he has been part of the Clyde Hillwalking Group helping young people and adults to do adventurous activities, get out on the hills and increase their hillwalking skills. For his good service to Scouting, the Chief Scout has awarded her the Chief Scout's Commendation for Good Service.
Mossneuk Beavers are Scary!

Scout Groups around the Region will, I am sure, have been enjoying Halloween parties during the last week. Thanks to Bill Linley from East Kilbride for his picture of Beaver Scouts from Mossneuk Colony scaring their Beaver Leader!

The Braehead Clan are a professional Ice Hockey team, made up of players from all over the UK, Canada, USA and Europe.
They play out of the 4,000 seat, Braehead Arena in Renfrew and are enjoying a good seasons with 5wins to 3 losses so far.

In order to widen the audience and fan base of this new team, they are keen to welcome Scout Groups and Guide Companies from across Clyde Region to their home games.
This special offer means that tickets will cost only £5 per person and subject to minimum Group numbers, leaders will be offered a free ticket. For every 10 tickets purchased they will give one free.
For any leaders who do not qualify for a free tickets, the Clan is willing to give you the student rates. (this also applies to Scout Network).
