Avondyke Open Day - 19-09-2010

Avondyke Training Centre, situated on the outskirts of Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire and presents an ideal opportunity for Scouting to provide an exciting, challenging and imaginative residential experience for young people.

The building is centrally heated, has a well appointed kitchen, showers and sleeps thirty six. There is also a large camping field.

The Centre is single occupancy allowing Leaders to programme “Back to Basics” weekends, activity badges or themed activities. So far this year we have had Plains Indians, Roman soldiers, Pirates, Olympic Games and a District event for Beavers and Cubs which turned the Centre into a Medieval Castle!

We have several Groups who visit each year. One even holds their Christmas Dinner there and another brings the whole Group including Parents.

Older Sections can spend the weekend either indoors or camping and have Beavers visiting at some point (at no extra charge). The Centre is also suitable for Beaver sleepovers.

Never been to Avondyke?

Why not come along on Sunday 19th September between 2 and 4 pm and have a look for yourself to find out first hand, what facilities are available to Groups using the Centre.
