Scottish Scout Regatta 2013

31st August 2013 - 1st September 2013

This year’s Scottish Scout Regatta will be held at Longcraig Scout Centre on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September 2013.

The cost of the event will by £25 per person which will include lunch on both days.

The usual selection of events are being planned and they also have the RYA helping out to provide an exciting powerboat challenge event. The events consist of  kayaking and canoeing, single handed and crewed dinghy sailing and powerboating; these events will all be in age ranges covering Scouts (less than 14 years old), Explorers and Young Leaders (less than 18 years old) and Adult Members (over 18 years old).

Participants can take part in just one event or as many as they consider themselves able to within their age range. The Scout Regatta, although run like a formal regatta event, is aimed at Scout members who have not necessarily taken part in regatta events before, so it is a good opportunity to test your skills but at the same time find out what competitive events are all about, in the friendly atmosphere of a Scouting event.

Any groups wishing to take part are asked to email lscmanager@longcraig.org.uk indicating their intention to attend along with expected numbers for each of the age groups (Scout, Explorer, Network/Leader). Details of how to join and payments etc will be provided in return.

Note that the final date for applications will be August 19th unless the event is fully subscribed before then.
