Transformation

We're making some changes to Scouts to improve the volunteer experience and embrace digital transformation.

Transformation Lead

Meet Duncan Williams-Buchanan, the Transformation Lead for Clyde Region.

Duncan is the volunteer lead that helps prepare and support the Region, Districts, and Groups to embrace and implement the positive changes which will help even more young people gain Skills for Life.

If you have any questions on the transformation project or would like to get involved, please email transformation@clydescouts.org.uk

"I have been part of Scouting from Beavers through all the sections to Explorers when they formed 20 years ago. I was previously an instructor at Lochgoilhead and I am currently a Leader with the Scout section at the 12th Glasgow (Lenzie) and helping as part of the ASU at Auchengillan."

"My role is to help lead the Region into embracing the new changes for Adult volunteers over the next couple of years. These changes will involve a new start to volunteering in Scouting, changes in roles and changes in training."

"Much of the work will require collaboration and support from all levels of scouting volunteers. I would be delighted to speak with local volunteers who are interested in helping spread the c
hanges or becoming a digital advocate within your group/district"

Watch Duncan's video on Transformation  updates and how they may effect your Group or District.

You may have heard that there are some big changes coming to Scouts:

  • A warmer welcome for everyone

  • Simplifying roles and structures

  • A more engaging learning experience

  • Digital support to get things done

Simplifying Volunteering

As we work towards February 2024 we will be looking to start our movement into team based volunteering, Many of your units will already operate like this however as we move up into groups and districts there will be a few changes to get our heads around,

Work with your Team Leaders and Lead Volunteers to work our what your teams are going to look like, and how you are going to split up your tasks to utilise everyone’s skills to the best.

Scouts Scotland have produced a short video to help explain some of the changes click here or watch the video on the left
